Jeremy, the Sugar Puffs Bear...

This poorly kept bear is Jeremy, another famous bear in Scotland, here in a park near Dundee called Camperdown Park. In the 60's, starting 1957 as a cub, Jeremy the bear was used to advertise "Sugar puffs" on TV, until a few years later when they replaced the real bear with a cartoon one. As a result of Jeremy becoming unemployed, she was kept at Camperdown Zoo, from around 1970. Jeremy was actually a female, and she died in Dundee in 1990.

Here the successor of Jeremy...

The park made news headlines in 1986 when "Jeremy", bit the arm off ten-year-old Ross Prendergast, who had sneaked with friends into the park after hours. The bear enclosure has been enlarged since the incident, and there are now two different bears at the park.

I am sorry, I didn't find photos of the commercial with Jeremy on the net...
