This face of silent beauty is Vitus from Karlsruhe, it is him to whom the gorgeous toe nails, the impressive foot and the fluffy ear belong which formed part of our Sunday Polar Bear Quiz.
Vitus wurde am 2.Dezember 2000 in Rostock geboren und lebt seit dem 18.12. 2001 im Karlsruher Zoo, zusammen mit der 10 Jahre älteren Holländerin Larissa sowie Nika, die ein paar Tage älter als er selbst ist und in Wien geboren wurde, hier
füßelt Vitus gerade mit ihr...-
Vitus was born on 2 Dec 2000 in Rostock and has been living since 18 Dec 2001 in Zoo Karlsruhe, together with Larissa, a Dutch lady 10 years his senior. There is also Nika, a female from Vienna, just a couple of days older than himself. Here you can see them both in tender mood, hugging in the water, rubbing their feet...

Bei

Larissa liegt mir sehr am Herzen, ich habe selten eine solche Mischung aus Verletzlichkeit und Entspanntheit gesehen. Ich hoffe, ihr mögt Pims Fotos ebenfalls so sehr wie ich, selbst wenn es dieses Mal mit dem Raten nicht so ganz geklappt hat. -
A big thank you to Pim de Klerk who has been so friendly to let me use some of his stunning photos already for the quiz without linking immediately to his gallery. There you will find a couple of photos of the polar bears in Karlsruhe who he visits as often his time allows. Beside his close ups and pics showing just a tiny polar bear detail (above you find Larissa's foot), I like especially his photos reflecting the bears' moments of joy and vulnerability. There is one photo of Larissa which you really should not miss...Please enjoy Pim's photos, I hope you like them as much as I do even if you didn't guess right!

Beside the pleasure to get to know Pim during the days of the quiz, I want to thank not only him but also all participants...I have to confess, I am really somehow relieved that noone found out so quickly - you all have no idea how often I am starring desperately on to the screen just in order to find significant details to differentiate bears, most of the time I only prove to be a hopeless case...
