Gestern...Yesterday
I have no words to express my thoughts and feelings since the moment I have learned of Knut's death. So many images of him during the last four years are in me, and will always remain in me. The delicacy, softness and tenderness of that bear have always touched me most, it has not yet reached my mind that he is no more, that he never again will play obliviously with a stick, as he did shortly before his death.

I can't help to think of the many people in Japan who have lost everything within the few minutes the earthquake and tsunami struck , their homes, their families, their loved ones. A few minutes have changed everything, so that nothing was, is and will be the same before. Many have to say farewell in the barest form ever, the tsunami destroyed the hope to pay last respects by burying the people and animals who have been dear, photos and other personal items of sentimental value are gone - lost forever.
No place anywhere is preparing us for all the pain when we lose a loved one,
no place will ever be the same again.
Mourning is an island - memories the world.
We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.
