Today we celebrate, it's a special day. It's the Day of the Lefthanders, and sure, we join in...To be honest, I wouldn't have noticed it myself, were it not because of Mami Simba who found this some months ago...

She was absolutely thrilled and started to examine all her photos of me and others...This is what she has found so far...

Kermit and the bear of Sesame Street are it...to 100%

They have great chances to become presidents, as they share their disposition not only with Obama..., who probably hadn't to undergo that much trouble compared to our friend Bart Simpson...

In humans you'll find about 15% lefthanders, by the way the British royalty is pretty much represented in these statistics...How about animals?
The biggest group of left side dominated animals are parrots, more than 90% use their left feet...
Preference of one side as you find it in humans, exists too in dogs and cats, although it is more likely to be the right paw welcoming you..., monkeys are a chapter of a special kind, there are tons of research studies especially in chimps. There you'll find even a 35% quota, the younger, the more...

Some of them became famous artists..., but more about that another time...

But now to the polar bears, what about us...?

Isn't that obvious, sure, left-pawed...

And another beauty from Bearlin...))

BUT STOP! What is Vitus from Karlsruhe up to there? This is the right paw...!!!

Somehow somethingdoes not fit...Me too I can do quite everything with my right paw or both paws...

I started my own research...and found that...
"Polar Bears are NOT left handed, nor do they cover their noses with their paws when hunting.
Hundreds of hours of observation has never once documented a case of a Polar Bear consciously covering its nose when hunting, or favouring one paw over another.
They do, however, have a thing for toothpaste. "
I couldn't help laughing..., because believe it or not, this was a match...

However, I wish you all a wonderful Left Handers Day, for starters you might practice that....(sure with your left paw...)!!!

Liebe Birgit,
