Wenn Kinder aus dem Beutel fallen...

So ist es normalerweise, ein Kängurubaby bleibt ungefähr 11 Monate im Beutel bei seiner Mutter, kleine Ausflüge etwas früher inbegriffen...Aber manchmal läuft es anders...-

That's how it should be- a little kangaroo stays for about 11 months in the pouch of its mother, little excursions a bit earlier included...But sometimes life turns out to be different....Das ist Tijana aus dem Zoo Belgrad. Dieses 6 Monate alte Babykäguru fiel aus dem Beutel, als seine Mutter sich offenbar heftig vor einem Emu erschreckt hat. Danach nahm sie ihr Junges nicht mehr an. Nun wird Tijana mit der Flasche großgezogen und lebt einstweilen in einem Brutkasten.-

This is Tijana from the zoo in Belgrade. This 6 months old baby kangaroo fell out of mom's pouch when its' Mom got scared of an emu. Afterwards she didn't accept anymore her little one. Now Tijana gets bottlefed and has to live for he time being in an incubator.

Aber es gibt auch die Geschichte von Rex und diesem kleinen Joey, das vom 10 jährigen Rex gerettet wurde nachdem die Mutter von einem Auto angefahren und getötet wurde.Das Kleine blieb unverletzt im Beutel, bis es von dem Hund aufgestöbert und behutsam am Nacken zu seinem Frauchen getragen wurde, die das Kleine einer Wildtierstation übergab, wo es dann mit 18 Monaten ausgewildert werden soll. Das Kleine wurde auf den Namen seines Retters Rex Jr. getauft... But there is also the story of Rex and a little joey....Rex rescued the 4 and a half months old baby kangaroo after its mother had obviously been killed while crossing the road. Rex, being out for a walk with his owner, found Skippy in the pouch of the dead mother kangaroo, and brought it back to be cared for...(read story here)

Und für alle, die nicht mehr so genau wissen, wie das imDetail mit dem Kinderkriegen bei Kängurus läuft, ein paar Fakten werden in einem exta posting kommen, ganz speziell für James Castel, einem Freund aus Rodrigues, der mich damit schon seit 2 Wochen löchert...

And for everyone who does not know anymore how it usually works with the kangaroo mommies and their little offspring, some facts will be coming in a extra posting soon....especially for my friend James Castel who has been asking me already about it for 2 weeks...!
